The police have registered an abetment to suicide case against three persons after three bodies, including those of two minor girls and their mother, were found at Saron village here late last evening.

Victim Baljit Kaur’s relatives alleged she was facing humiliation at the hands of her husband and in-laws for not giving birth to a boy and was forced to commit suicide. The police said they had recovered a suicide note, wherein the woman had not blamed anyone. Baljit’s brother Jagdev Singh alleged, “Her husband, his mother and father had been harassing her after she gave birth to the first daughter in 2015. After the birth of the second daughter in 2018, they again started harassing her. She killed herself and both daughters after facing harassment.

Last evening, the police recovered the bodies of Anshnoor Kaur (5) and her sister Virasat Kaur (2) from a room. Baljit’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan. The bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital. A case has been registered against victim’s husband Avtar Singh, his mother Balwant Kaur and her husband Mankhandi Singh. — TNS
