Expressing solidarity with the ongoing Punjab farmers’ movement against the recent farm laws, three Punjabi writers have returned their Sahitya Akademi awards. A press note issued on Thursday by the Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, the biggest body of Punjabi writers, said among those who had returned their awards were literary critic Jaswinder Singh, Punjabi playwright Swarajbir Singh and Delhi-based poet Mohanjit.
