After helping over 1,000 Covid victims with medical aid, the Punjab Youth Congress has undertaken the task of guiding residents on vaccination drives.

Almost a month after launching a dedicated helpline ‘Farz Manukhta Lai’ from the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) headquarters here, the volunteers are now guiding people about vaccination centres and the real-time availability of the vaccine, especially in rural areas. General secretary of All India Youth Congress Amarpreet Singh Lalli said the helpline was a unique initiative.

“With the help of MLAs and Youth Congress leaders, mobilisation of medical aid became easy and swift. If the patients were unable to travel long distance for medical help like oxygen cylinders or concentrators, our workers reached the patients’ location with the aid,” he said. — TNS
