Youth attacked with swords, 2 accused nabbed

Two masked youths attacked and injured a 26-year-old youth with swords at his house in Gidderanwali village, 18 km from here.The victim, Karamjit Singh, was admitted to the Abohar Civil Hospital. After first aid, he was referred to the GGS Medical College Hospital Faridkot as his condition turned critical.

Karamjit Singh said the two youths, who had covered their faces, knocked at the door of his house last night. When he opened the door, they attacked him with swords, resulting in serious injuries on one of his hands. When he shouted for help, people gathered at the place and overcame the fleeing attackers. Both were later handed over to cops at the Khuian Sarwar police station.

The injured youth was brought to Abohar and admitted to Government Hospital, where he received 25 to 30 stitches on his hand. Due to his serious condition, he was shifted to Faridkot.

The Khuian Sarwar police station incharge Paramjit said both accused were being questioned. The statement of the victim, Karamjit Singh, would be recorded and further action would be taken accordingly.
