On the basis of Sanjay Kumar’s statement, the Wahabwala police on Thursday registered a case under Sections 302, 307, 148 and 149 of the IPC and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act.

Rajinder Kumar Delu, Sunil Kumar, Amit Kumar Delu, Sanjeev Kumar, Ved Prakash, Birbal, Ajay Kumar and Manoj Kumar Jhurarkhera are among the 15 people named in the FIR.

The police said Sanjay Kumar’s son Om Prakash had earlier expressed apprehensions that Amit and Rajinder might attack him due to an ongoing land dispute. DSP Bhupinder Singh had reportedly tried to get the rival factions to settle the dispute amicably but to no avail.
