Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was on Tuesday elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, said the Assembly secretary.

Along with Sonia Gandhi, BJP’s Chunnilal Garasiya and Madan Rathore were also elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, added the official.

The Congress had nominated its former party chief on February 14 for the Rajya Sabha election.

With this, the 77-year-old Congress leader will enter the Upper House for the first time.
