The 2nd St. Soldier Lawn Tennis Tournament, a three-day inter-school annual event organised by Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28, Chandigarh, commenced with great enthusiasm and participation from 13 schools across the Tricity. The tournament was inaugurated by the school's Chairman, Ravinder Pal Singh, along with Director Jagwinder Pal Singh, Adviser Vijaya Sidhu and Principal Anisha Ghuman, who extended their blessings and encouraged players to compete with passion and sportsmanship. Day 1 of the tournament witnessed high-energy matches, precision play and remarkable talent. In the first match, St. Stephen's School, Sector 45, Chandigarh, secured a 3-1 victory over Saupin's School, Sector 32. Samarth defeated Bhumik 6-2, Vyan lost to Kanav 3-6, and in the doubles, Samarth and Vyan triumphed 6-4 over Bhumik and Kanav. In the second match, St. Soldier School, Panchkula, displayed strong form, defeating Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, by 2-0, with Tanishk beating Yashvir 6-1 and Sumohit overcoming Kritya 6-2. Vivek High School, Sector 38, Chandigarh, won the third match 2-0 against St. John's High School. Shubh edged out Abhiraj in a thrilling tie-break (7-6, 7-5), while Kabir defeated Aarav 6-2. In the fourth match, KB DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, Chandigarh, beat Chitkara International School, Sector 25, 3-1. Ayaan defeated Siddharth 6-0, Kartikay lost to Aarav 1-6, and in the deciding doubles, Ayaan and Kshitij clinched victory over Siddharth and Aarav. In the final match of the day, Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, showcased consistency, overpowering Banyan Tree School, Sector 48, 2-0, with Kanveer beating Rivaan 6-0 and Jasraj defeating Bhavesh 6-0. The tournament continues and will conclude on 16 October 2025, celebrating sportsmanship and excellence.
