Bharatanatyam workshop at Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh

The grand finale of the 10-day Bharatanatyam workshop was celebrated with immense enthusiasm. Over 70 girls, aged 3 to 17, participated and mesmerised the audience with their graceful performances. Held in the school auditorium, the workshop began on May 24 and was led by acclaimed dance gurus Rahul and Nandini Gupta and their team, with strong support from Principal Sister Venita Joseph. The chief guest, renowned Kuchipudi artist Janki Anjani, commended the young dancers for their dedication and talent. The students performed classical pieces such as Pushpanjali, Alaripu and Varnam, showcasing mastery in expression, rhythm and traditional mudras. The audience responded with a standing ovation, reflecting the impact of the event. The workshop was more than a performance — it was a cultural celebration that instilled discipline, concentration and cultural pride. Principals from other Chandigarh schools also praised the students’ artistry. Special appreciation was extended to Sister Venita Joseph for her visionary leadership in promoting Indian classical arts.
