Bhavanites on top in Tricity

Perhaps for the first time in the history of the tricity, there has been a tie at all three positions as the CBSE announced Class X results today. Five students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, excelled by scoring 99 per cent marks each in the examination to lead the toppers’ chart. Out of these five toppers, four are girls, Ashmita Sengupta, Bhuvi Kansal, Garima and Rasleen Kaur Dua, while Parv Aggarwal is the only boy.

Out of the total 194 students who appeared for the exam, as many as 66 scored above 95 per cent and 130 over 90 per cent. 

Ashmita Sen Gupta topped along with four others Bhuvi Kansal, Garima, Parv Aggarwal and Rasleen Kaur with 99%.

“I still can’t believe that I have topped the exam. I had studied regularly throughout the session. Discipline, consistency and guidance of the teachers is the key to success. My mother always inspired me,” said Ashmita, who aims to become an IAS officer. Her father Anindya Sengupta is a plant manager in a private company and mother Milly Sengupta is a teacher.

 Bhuvi, meanwhile, gives credit of her success to her parents and the school. “I was regular with my studies and never got tensed as studying continuously won’t help. I want to pursue a career in the Army,” said Bhuvi. He father Anil Kansal works as an engineer in a private company, while mother Sanju Kansal is a government employee.

 Rasleen, who also wanted to become a civil servant, said: “Not just hard, you have to study smart to score good marks. Consistency plays a key role. I would suggest students to take regular breaks during their revision hours as It worked for me,” she said

 Garima, who aims to be a computer engineer, said that it’s the first step towards achieving her dream. “There was no secret formula for her success and it was only consistent hard work and consistency that had paid off,” she said. She wants to pursue Non-medial.

 Among the boys, Aggarwal remained the best performer of the tricity. He also aims to become a computer engineer. “I had set targets for each day which acts as incentives for me. I worked hard to achieve them and I did,” he said.

 Vrinda overall second position

 Vrinda Gupta from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh, scored 98.8 percent marks to remain the overall second spot. Wanted to follow footsteps of her parents, Vrinda wanted to become a chartered accountant. She gives credit to her school and parents. “I am very clear in my aim of becoming a chartered account. A good result was important for me to pursue my career in commerce ahead. I am happy to witness a fruitful result of my hard work,” said Vrinda.

 Another tie for overall third spot

 In other interesting events, as many five scored 98.6 percent to claim an overall third position.
