DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm, with the Principal, students and staff members participating wholeheartedly. The programme began with a speech by an NSS Volunteer, who highlighted the profound significance of the festival - the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. This was followed by a vibrant presentation by the tiny tots of Class III. A melodious song was performed by the students of Class VI and a thought-provoking play by Class VII depicted the harmful effects of firecrackers. Students of DPSE added to the festive spirit with a lively combined song and dance performance, while the Eco Club shared practical tips for celebrating an eco-friendly, green Diwali. In a moment of collective commitment, all students and staff members took a pledge to celebrate a Green and Clean Diwali, vowing to protect the environment and spread awareness about sustainable practices. The event concluded with an inspiring address by Principal Anuja Sharma, who appreciated the efforts of both students and teachers. She reminded everyone that festivals bring not only joy and celebration, but also an opportunity for reflection, responsibility and compassion towards our planet. The celebration beautifully blended festivity with awareness, leaving a meaningful and lasting impression on all.
