DAV School, Nagrota Surian, students bag first position in quiz

World Wetland Day was celebrated at the Interpretation Hall of Nagrota Surian, courtesy the Wildlife and Forest Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The department inspired children to save wetlands and told many important things. Many types of competitions were conducted for children. Students of DAV School, Nagrota Surian, got the first position in the quiz competition. These included Kavya Kashyap, Akshat Sharma and Shivansh Kaudal. Gunjan Choudhary secured the third place in the crossword competition. School Principal Shekhar Moudgil praised the children for their success. He asked the children to make efforts to save the wetlands and described wetlands as the kidneys of the earth. He highlighted the importance of their maintenance and cleaning.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
