DAV Senior Public School, Surajpur, conducts seminar for teachers
Under the noble headship of Dr Mamta Goel and the aegis of the CBSE, the school concluded a one-day seminar for teachers on the subject of STEM DLD. Primary, secondary, and higher secondary teachers participated enthusiastically. During the workshop, the resource persons emphasised the importance of coordinating classroom teaching according to the interests, abilities and work capacities of students, while endeavouring to relate science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects to everyday life activities. The one-day seminar, organised under the Central Board of Secondary Education, aimed to promote the ideology of skill-based education by integrating science, technology, engineering and mathematics into the curriculum. On this occasion, resource persons Dr Pankaj Sharma (Professor, National Institute of Applied Sciences, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh) and Dr Balwinder S. Dhaliwal (Associate Professor, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Chandigarh) provided specialised training to teachers on enhancing teaching methods using AI tools and STEM technology, emphasising the importance of technical and practical knowledge for 21st-century students. Principal Dr Mamta Goel remarked that the responsibility of fostering interest and positive thinking towards science and technology among students lies with teachers. She added that this would enable students not only to relate day-to-day events to science successfully but also to develop a scientific outlook, an interest in new research and a strong foundation of moral values.
