To mark the World Liver Day, the Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL) Taskforce on Preventive Hepatology organised an awareness session at the school for students of classes X to XII. Centred around the slogan of the year 2025, ‘Food is Medicine’, the event aimed to highlight the importance of nutrition in protecting liver health and preventing lifestyle-related liver diseases. Experts, including Dr Ajay Duseja, Prof and Head, Hepotology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr Ajeet Bhadoria from AIIMS, Rishikesh, and Dr Arka De of the PGIMER, addressed key topics, such as viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease. The session concluded with an enthusiastic Q&A round, where students asked thoughtful questions about vaccination, lifestyle modifications, and the link between fast food consumption and liver disease. In her closing address, Director Reema Dewan appreciated the INASL team and emphasised the need to empower young individuals with preventive health knowledge. To mark the World Liver Day, a series of FibroScan Camps and free antibodies testing began on April 19 at the PGIMER for the school staff and will continue for six months. The school also plans to start vaccination drives for Hepatitis A & B for staff and students with parental consent.
