The Chandigarh unit of Samagra Shiksha organised a state-level exhibition of material prepared by Oosc in Skill Education in special training centres (STC) on the campus. Deputy Director-2, School Education, Ravinder Kaur was the chief guest. She was welcomed by Principal Sunita Singh. Other dignitaries present were Deputy Director-4 Prabhjot Kaur, District Education Officer Bindu Arora, Deputy DEO Poonam Sood, APC Sangeeta Bhasin and Mission Coordinator Manjit Kaur Gill. The programme commenced with the welcome of the chief guest and with the inauguration of an exhibition put up by the STC children, CRCs and the STTs of the materials that were prepared during the skill training in their STC centres. Skill training under Samagra Shiksha provides children with an opportunity to learn various skills like knitting, flower making, jewellery making, best out of waste, textile printing, pottery etc. which can help these children become self-sufficient in the future. The chief guest and the dignitaries applauded the efforts of teachers and students. The exhibition was followed by a prize-distribution function. The best entries chosen from 20 clusters were given prizes. The event concluded with the tree plantation by the chief guest.
