Guru Nanak Dev’s Parkash Purb was celebrated at the school. After the bhog of Sri Akhand Path, shabad kirtan rendered an atmosphere of piousness and sanctity, followed by Guru ka langar. Students disseminated the message of harmony, humility, equality and universal brotherhood through poems, ‘vaar’ and speeches. Enveloped in devotion, students fervently recited shabads, invoking the divine presence. To instil the spirit of ‘sewa’ (serving humanity) in children, langar for more than 6,000 people was prepared and distributed by the school’s staff and students. ‘Sewa’ performed by them in a gurdwara made them learn the lesson of following the path of universal brotherhood and harmony. GNPS students also distributed woollen clothes in slum areas and orphanages across the Tricity. President of the school governing council JS Bawa, general secretary Prof GS Dhillon and Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal along with other members of the governing council highlighted the significance of integrating Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings into our lives and adhering to the path of harmony and righteousness.
