Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar today announced that the schools would start operating from July 16 onwards. Initially, classes IX to XII will be allowed. From July 23 onwards, casses VI to VIII will also be allowed. Gujjar clarified that the classes would start will full strength.

Earlier on July 8, Chief Minister ML Khattar had said that given the decline in the number of Covid cases, a plan should be made to reopen schools at the earliest.

“Now, since the Covid curve has flattened, educational institutes should be reopened at the earliest ensuring strict adherence to Covid protocol,” said the Chief Minister.

However, no decision has been taken for primary classes.
