A week-long Water Week celebration, “Festa Dell’ Acqua” ended on a vibrant note. To sensitise everyone about the situation, Class VIII students of the school presented a thought-provoking assembly ‘Bridging borders: Water for a peaceful and sustainable future’. The assembly was graced by participants from partner school, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Chandigarh. The school played host to a number of competitions, which encouraged creativity and innovation. The competitions for classes VIII and IX were: ‘Toyedagum Sawaragini — Hindi poetry writing competition’; ‘Conservation Natural - Crafting Nature’; ‘Art-E-Lleria — Poster making competition’; ‘The Toygator — Water toy making competition’; ‘Crackerjack Exhibitor — Playing with experiments’. The assembly started with a mime performed by students of classes VIII and IX depicting, through five scenes, the problem of water scarcity and raising a compelling question ‘What the future will hold for us, if water is wasted?’ followed by the reporters all over the world reporting ‘Water Crisis’. An inspirational song, ‘Pani re pani tera rang kesa’ was presented by Gurcharan and Daksh accompanied by Dhruv on harmonium and Mansukh Singh on tabla, followed by messages ‘Water is life’, ‘A gift so rare’. The winners of competition from KB DAV-7 and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Chandigarh, were awarded certificates by Principal Pooja Prakash who appreciated the teachers and the students for their efforts for conducting such an informative assembly.
