The school organised an art and quiz competition in the memory of S Parkash Singh Badal. About 10 schools of Giddarbaha and Bathinda region took part in the event. Artist Suresh Mangla was the chief guest and the judge of the competition. The competition was held in two categories – junior and senior. In the junior category Japveer Kaur from JNJ DAV School, Giddarbaha, bagged the first position. Kunwarjot Singh and Sagandeep Kaur from Malwa School, Giddarbaha, came second and third, respectively. In the senior category, Roopam Mittal from Malwa School was adjudged first, Gurwinder Singh from Adarsh School, Kotbhai, came second, while Kritika Singla from JNJ DAV Schoool, Giddarbaha, secured the third position. In quiz, Malwa School came first, Adarsh School, Kotbhai and Malwa School, Giddarbaha, were adjudged second and third, respectively.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
