Students of Grade VIII of Blue Bird High School, Sector 16, Panchkula, enacted a scene of Indian Parliament. The topic of Mock Parliament was “Disaster Management Amendment Bill 2024”. Around 40 students participated and created the look of a real Parliament. During the discussion many important issues were raised like role of artificial intelligence in disaster management, climate change and situation during flood, etc. The leaders of the opposition raised many questions on the working of the ruling party on various policies and agendas. The ruling party tried to defend its government. The Mock Parliament provided students with a valuable opportunity to step into the shoes of legislators, debating critical issues that affect our society. It became a platform where they could express their opinions, develop public speaking skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the democratic processes. The experience left them not only well-versed with India’s democratic fundamentals but also brimmed them with newfound confidence in their public speaking abilities. The principal appreciated the efforts of the students.
