Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, hosted the 24th edition of 'Swar Udgam', an inter-school Hindustani classical vocal and Geet/Gazal competition. Students from various schools in Tricity and surrounding areas participated, showcasing their talent in classical vocal recitals and Geet/Gazals. The competition was judged by accomplished composer/classical singers Chahat Sharma and Navdeep Singh. Winners were felicitated by the school's founders, directors, and Principal Parveena John Singh. In the Hindustani classical vocal competition, Mishti Garg from Yadvindra Public School, Mohali, won the first prize, followed by Amrit Kaur from IS Dev Samaj Sr Sec School, Chandigarh (second), and Rakshan Sharma from DAV Public School, Chandigarh (third). In the Geet/Gazal competition, Gurasis Singh from Yadvindra Public School, Mohali, secured the first position, followed by Avi Narula from Kundan International School, Chandigarh (second) and Ananyaa Dutt Sharma from IS Dev Samaj Sr Sec School, Chandigarh (third).
