OMNES Education, a French higher education group with 15 schools and 40,000 students, has launched the Intelligence Lab at its engineering school, ECE. This AI-driven platform is a key part of OMNES’s strategic transformation, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence into all aspects of student learning and faculty tools. The group aspires to become the pioneer of AI in French private higher education by 2027. The Intelligence Lab provides a cutting-edge platform for AI education, research, and innovation. The Intelligence Lab is designed to accelerate OMNES Education’s transformation through hands-on, cross-disciplinary AI engagement. It features a high-performance Graphics Processing Units (GPU) cluster capable of large-scale computations, enabling students to gain practical experience in foundational machine learning and advanced generative AI models. The lab emphasises ethical and responsible AI development, promoting sovereign, resource-efficient, and open-source solutions. AI is now central to ECE’s academic offerings, preparing students to become leaders in generative and agent-based AI. The Lab has formed R&D partnerships with industry leaders like Renault, Orano, MBDA, Ametra Engineering, and IRT SystemX, a Paris-Saclay-based technology research institute, along with international collaboration with Kaydan Groupe in Côte d’Ivoire. These partnerships provide students with access to real-world AI projects, cutting edge echnological challenges, and professional environments. An innovative example from the Lab is the creation of an AI avatar of ECE’s Dean, developed by students. This prototype, capable of answering applicant questions 24/7 in any language, will be deployed across all OMNES schools starting in the 2026–2027 academic year, showcasing the group’s commitment to enhancing educational services through AI.
