PML SD Public School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, inaugurated the 24th Pandit Mohan Lal Memorial Basketball Tournament and the 5th Boxing Tournament (U-19 Boys and Girls) in memory of its revered Founder, Pandit Mohan Lal Sharma. The event commenced with a solemn tribute paid by the chief guest and principal, Monica Sharma, who recalled the Founder's vision of holistic education that harmonised academics with sports for the all-round development of students. The principal declared the tournament open and emphasised the importance of sports in instilling discipline, character and teamwork among students. The tournament witnessed the participation of 400 students from various schools in Chandigarh, competing in both basketball and boxing (U-19 categories for boys and girls). A prize pool of Rs 1.5 lakh was awarded to the winners in recognition of their efforts and excellence.
