Road safety programme at Montfort School, Roorkee

The school organised a road-safety awareness programme for its students. The initiative, organised under the leadership of Principal Bro Albert Abraham, aimed to educate young minds on the importance of road safety. A dedicated team comprising members from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) and STRABAG International collaborated with the school for the event. The programme included an interactive session designed to engage students and make learning about road safety fun and informative. To motivate the students, a lucky draw was conducted in each section, and two lucky winners were awarded gifts. Focusing on primary section students, the session employed a questionnaire to assess the students’ existing knowledge of traffic rules and road safety measures.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
