To celebrate International Tiger Day, tiny tots of Delhi Public School, Khanna, went on a joyful and meaningful trip to Chattbir Zoo. The visit was planned not only as a fun outing but also to help children understand the importance of saving tigers and protecting wildlife. As soon as the little students stepped into Chattbir Zoo, their faces lit up with smiles and wonder. From furious jackal, majestic tiger and dancing white peacocks to gigantic hippos and graceful cranes, the park was alive with the beauty of nature. The children saw many animals they had only read about in books. Children excitedly rode on a beautiful train and travelled from zone to zone. Dinosaur Park was the highlight of the trip as children saw many forms of extinct animals. Tiny tots of Nursery, Prep and young explorers of Grade I to III were introduced to the idea of animal care and tiger protection in simple words. Children learnt that tigers are endangered and that “we must take steps to protect forests and wildlife”. The trip also gave children a chance to bond with classmates and meet new friends from other sections. Children relished yummy food at Rutbah Dhaba on their way back. Principal Dr VJ Nagesh said the special day at Chattbir Zoo not only helped children connect with the animal world but also planted seeds of love, care, and responsibility for all living beings.
