To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a national-level Olympiad was organised for students in classes VIII, IX, and XI to foster interest in meteorology. The school’s Class VIII student Diya Gupta was recognised as the state-level topper. She was then invited to take part in the national exam at the IMD headquarters in Delhi, coinciding with IMD’s grand 150th celebration at Bharat Mandapam, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the event, Diya also had the chance to explore the observatory and gain insights into advanced weather forecasting technologies.
