A tree plantation programme was organised on the premises of Govt Model High School, Mauli Colony, Chandigarh. Headmistress Parveen Malik and other staff members took part in the programme enthusiastically. The slogan ‘plant tree, save life’ helped raised awareness regarding the environment. On the occasion, the Headmistress said that the plants are contributing to the environment in a great way. They provide oxygen, improve air quality, support wildlife, preserve soil and conserve water. She further added that by performing its function of photosynthesis, it contributes more than it takes from the planet. She said that if trees are not planted in large numbers, all the living organisms will have to bear the brunt of human negligence.
