A devotional tribute was paid to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his 94th birth anniversary at Revel Dale Public School, Attari. Inspirational anecdotes from his life were recounted before the students who grew exceedingly inspired to learn about his humility, his compassion, his righteousness and perseverance. He was a scientist par excellence. He was the most admired President of India. His bond with the students was exemplary and he was an educator beyond compare. Singing choir of the school performed a song based on the duties that students of our country are expected to discharge. An oath that was administered by Dr Kalam to the students was read out before the students.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
