“I used to study for 7-8 hours apart from my coaching sessions. A planned approach is the key to success. If you focus well, the number of hours you put don’t really matter. I tried not to be stressed and took regular breaks. Teachers were helpful and played a key role in uplifting our mood, said Sharma, who has been preparing for the exam from last 2 years.

“I will take the same strategy forward,” Sharma who is confident about his JEE Advanced preparation.

A good walk, conversing with friends, playing badminton were the stress buster for him.

Originally from Amritsar in Punjab, the topper wants to pursue his BTech in Computer Science either from IIT Delhi or Bombay.

He is also inclined towards entrepreneurship if everything goes well for him during engineering years.

Sharing his success mantra, Sharma said, “Whatever you do, do it with passion. If you have made you mind for one thing, give your 100 per cent to achieve it.”

Sharma had scored 98.8 per cent in Class  XII board exams.
