The Van Mahotsava celebration at DC Montessori Senior Secondary Smart School, Chandigarh, aimed to spread awareness about the importance of trees and promote afforestation, courtesy of the school's Eco Club. The event kicked off with a special morning assembly highlighting the significance of Van Mahotsava, featuring student-presented speeches, poems, skits, and slogans that emphasised environmental protection. The highlight of the day was a tree plantation drive, where students and teachers actively participated in planting saplings. Principal Vishali Kaushal inaugurated the drive by planting the first sapling, encouraging students to pledge to protect their newly planted trees. The event also included competitions like poster making, slogan writing, and essay writing on "Save Trees, Save Earth," with winners receiving certificates and eco-friendly prizes. The programme concluded with a motivational speech by the Principal, emphasising the importance of sustainable living and the impact of small efforts.
