Where maths met laughter

He has been teaching me since Class IX, and now that I am in Class XII, I can proudly say he is the reason math doesn’t scare me anymore. In fact, sometimes I even enjoy it-yes, you read that right.
Before Class IX, the thought of having a new math teacher gave us goosebumps. We imagined someone strict, with a serious tone, handing out piles of homework and raising eyebrows at every mistake. But then came Sumit Sir with his warm smile, hearty laugh, and a teaching style that made us wonder if we were in a mathematics class or a comedy show. He cracked jokes, made us laugh, and in between all the fun, managed to make formulas stick in our minds.
What makes Sir truly special is his friendly attitude towards students. He doesn’t carry the "I'm the boss" vibe. Instead, he treats us like younger friends. Because of this, no one in his class feels nervous about asking doubts. Even if someone asks the same question ten times, he patiently explains it again — often with a funny comment.
One of my favourite memories is from Class X, when he taught us trigonometry. For most of us, *sin*, *cos*, and *tan* felt like secret codes from another planet. But Sir had this brilliant way of simplifying everything. He used real-life examples, silly tricks, and funny comparisons that made the formulas easy to remember. Suddenly, trigonometry went from being a monster to a puzzle we actually wanted to solve.
Another inspiring quality is his endless positivity. He often reminds us that marks matter, but not more than honesty, effort, and believing in ourselves. Whenever someone feels down, his trademark laugh and kind words lift the mood instantly. Now that I'm in Class XII, I feel lucky to have learned from him for four years. He didn't just make math easier — he made it enjoyable. He didn't just teach equations — he taught us confidence.
To me, Sumit Sir is more than just a teacher. He is a mentor, a motivator, and the person who turned my fear of math into one of the best parts of my school journey.
