World’s two largest social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, experienced a sudden shutdown today, leaving millions of users sharing hilarious memes on X.

The outage sent social media users into a frenzy as they tried to access their social media accounts, only to be met with error messages.

Hashtags such as #facebookdown and #instagramdown began trending worldwide, with users sharing their experiences and checking if others were also affected by the outage.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
