Solan’s big-city-yet-small-town unique vibe
One might think of an urbanised place when the name Solan comes to mind, but it's so much more than that. Its charms cannot be quantified based on its topography or the cycle of seasons. Solan has something for everyone all year round.
January will showcase some light snowfall and will leave without giving you the trouble of extreme winters.
Come April, the city is in full bloom with beautiful bougainvilleas perched on the walls of the PWD rest house.
In June, the city is immersed in faith to celebrate the Shoolini Fair.
Monsoon is quite balanced and magical cloud inversions of the season mesmerise the locals and tourists alike from August to October.
And its beautiful green spaces with deodars and pines, cycling trails and uphill roads, perfect for comforting strolls, are not dependent on seasons but are evergreen.
Yes, it's not your textbook hill station getaway. It has the unique vibe of a big city and yet retains the spirit of a small town. My Solan does give the best of multiple worlds in one.
