India’s Bishwamitra Chongtham (51kg) sailed into the semifinals along with three of his compatriots, assuring themselves of at least a bronze medal at the ASBC Youth and Junior Boxing Championships in Dubai today.

Abhimanyu Loura (92kg), Deepak (75kg) and Preeti (57kg) were the other Indians to reach the semifinals. Aditya Janghu (86kg) lost in the quarterfinals.

Ravi loses bronze playoff

Ufa (Russia): The Indian Greco-Roman contingent will return without a medal from the junior wrestling World Championships as Ravi Malik lost his 82kg bronze-medal playoff by technical superiority in 42 seconds. Narinder Cheema (97kg) lost his repechage round by technical superiority to Marcus Worren.
