Midland (USA): India’s Aditi Ashok and Thailand’s Pajaree Anannarukarn finished tied-3rd at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational here. The duo added a 4-under 66 in better-ball play. Their 19-under total fetched them a career-best third place finish on the LPGA. Thai sisters Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn (24-under) won the title.

Lahiri finds touch on green, shoots 68 to get to T-18

Olympics-bound Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri had a good day on the greens in his round of 4-under 68 at the Barbasol Championship here. At 13-under, he is now T-18. He had an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys.

Anand holds Kramnik, wins Sparkassen Trophy

Viswanathan Anand won the Sparkassen Trophy after playing out a draw in his fourth and final round against long-time rival Vladimir Kramnik of Russia today. Anand, a former world champion, settled for a draw in 40 moves to win the match 2.5-1.5. The Indian maestro won the opening game of the series.
