New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s middle-order batter Mohammad Amaan will lead India in the men’s 50-over Under-19 Asia Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates later this month. India will open their campaign against Pakistan in Dubai on November 30. Meanwhile, arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been drawn together for the inaugural Women’s U19 Asia Cup. The six-team tournament, beginning on December 15, will take place in Kuala Lumpur.

India Women to host WI and Ireland in December-January

The Indian women’s team will host West Indies and Ireland for limited-overs series starting December 15. India will play three ODIs and as many T20Is against West Indies in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara before playing three One-dayers against Ireland at Rajkot in January.

Haryana in semis, Punjab lose in men’s hockey Nationals

Manipur, Haryana, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh advanced to the semifinals of the men’s senior National hockey championship. Haryana will take on UP, while Manipur will clash against Odisha. Manipur edged out Punjab 4-3 in the shootout after a 3-3 tie in the regulation time. Haryana came up with a 5-1 win over Maharashtra. UP defeated hosts Tamil Nadu 3-1. Odisha pipped Karnataka in the shootout after a 3-3 tie.

BJK Cup: Day 1 postponed due to extreme weather alert

The Billie Jean King Cup Finals, due to begin on Wednesday, were postponed after Spanish authorities issued a red weather alert for extreme rain and flooding in parts of the country.
