Chandigarh, December 18

Arshan Khan of Chandigarh University (Gharuan) won Mr All India Inter-University title during the All India Inter-University Best Physique Championship, today. He will now represent India at the Asian Best Physique Championship at Singapore in March 2020.

Khan bagged gold medal in the 90kg weight category of the best physique event, while B Ravi Kumar of Andhra University (Visakhapatnam) claimed the silver. Ananthu VR of Calicut University (Kerala) won the bronze medal. In the 90kg weight category, Krishna Kadam of SPPU (Pune), Mohammed Araf of Kerala University (Kerala) and Rohit Pramod of Rani Channamma University (Karnataka) won the top three positions, respectively.

In the All India Inter-University Weightlifting Championship, Lovepreet Singh of Punjabi University (Patiala) won 73kg gold medal by lifting a total weight of 263 kg (Snatch: 115 kg, clean & jerk: 148 kg). Kalpesh Mahajan of KBCNMU ( Maharashtra) claimed the silver by lifting a total weight of 259 kg (Snatch: 110 kg , clean & jerk: 149 kg) and Manoj Kumar Sahu of Behrampur University (Odisha) won the bronze by lifting a total weight of 258 kg (snatch: 110 kg and clean & jerk: 148 kg).

Prakash Shiva of Mangalore University (Karnataka) lifted 302 kg (snatch: 134 kg , clean & jerk: 168 kg) to win the 81kg gold. Raghveer Singh of Chandigarh University won silver medal by lifting a total weight of 296 kg (snatch: 129 kg , clean & jerk: 167 kg) and V Arun Pandiyan of Thiruvalluvar University (Tamil Nadu) lifted 291 kg (snatch: 131 kg, clean & jerk: 160 kg) to claim the third position.
