India’s Elavenil Valarivan, ranked world No. 1 in the women’s 10m air rifle, won gold in the Sheikh Russel International Air Rifle Championship, organised online by the Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation. Elavenil picked up $1,000 for winning gold in the event today.

India’s Shahu Tushar Mane won silver in the men’s event, earning $700.

In the 60-shot competition in which shooters from six nations participated, Elavenil shot a modest 627.5 to come out on top. Shiori Hirata won silver with 622.6, while Indonesia’s Vidya Toyyiba won bronze with 621.1.

Japan won the gold in the men’s event as Naoya Okada shot a solid 630.9 to leave India’s Shahu (623.8) behind. Baki Abdullah Hel won bronze for the hosts with an effort of 617.3. — TNS
