Government Model High School (Sector 36) continued their winning streak in the ongoing Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) 2019-20 National Football Finals, at the Reliance Corporate Park Ground in Ghansoli (Navi Mumbai) today.
Despite trailing by two goals, the team represented by lads of the state-run Chandigarh Football Academy (CFA) managed to pull off win over VELS Vidhyashram 3-2 in the boys’ sub-junior category. In other matches, Betkuchi High School (Guwahati) thrashed Vrajbhoomi Public School (Ahmedabad) 6-0 and The Unique Model Academy (Imphal) registered a 5-1 win over Progress High School (Goa) 5-1. Vedas International School (Delhi) played a 1-1 draw against MSP Higher Secondary School (Kozhikode). Titaguri High School (Kokrajhar) defeated Government Girls HSS (Namakkal) 3-1 in a girls’ category match. Faith HSS Himatnagar (Ahmedabad) logged a convincing 5-0 win over Gorkha Military Inter College (Dehradun), whereas St Joseph’s International School (Rohtak) defeated Rosary HSS (Goa) 2-0. In the boys’ college group, Shillong College performed well to hold Loyola College (Chennai) at a 3-3 draw. Indore Christian College defeated DAV PG College (Dehradun) 5-1 and Dr Bhupendranath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya (Kolkata) ousted SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics (Goa) 6-1.
