Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has finally addressed the meaning behind the viral black T-shirt he wore to his final court appearance amid his high-profile divorce from choreographer and influencer Dhanashree Verma. The T-shirt, saying, “Be your Own Suger Daddy”, sparked widespread speculation, with many interpreting it as a message to his estranged wife.

In a candid conversation with entrepreneur and content creator Raj Shamani, Chahal confirmed the public’s assumptions. “Mereko nahi karna tha drama (I did not want to do any drama),” Chahal said. “I just wanted to give one message, and maine who de diya (I gave that through the T-shirt).”

According to Chahal, the t-shirt was not pre-planned. However, a specific incident from Dhanashree’s side prompted him to wear it. “Kyunki saamne se kuch cheez hua tha fir maine kaaha ab sambhaal lo, ab mujhe nahi parwah kisi ki. Maine na kisi ko abuse kra, bus mujhe message dena tha (Something happened from the other side, and I thought, ‘Enough is enough, now I don’t care about anyone.’ I did not abuse anyone. I just wanted to send a message),” he clarified.
