India went 1-0 up in the third minute through Vandana Katariya before New Zealand struck back hard to lead 3-1. Lalremsiami reduced the lead to 2-3 in the 43rd minute and Gurjit Kaur scored with a drag-flick in the 58th to reduce the deficit to 3-4. After New Zealand dominated early possession, India took the lead when a diving Vandana deflected the ball in after a flick by Lalremsiami. — Agencies
