The Indian men’s and women’s teams entered the semifinals of the Asian Nations (Regions) Online Cup Championship today. The top-seeded women’s team made short work of Kyrgyzstan in the last-eight round, winning the two match-ups easily — 4-0 and 3.5-0.5. They will face Mongolia in the semifinals on Saturday. The Indian men were given a tough fight by Mongolia. Both the matches ended with a similar 2.5-1.5 scoreline in favour of India. They will take on Iran in Saturday’s semifinals.

Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar shot a 3-under 69 in the second round to ensure he is part of the weekend action at the Italian Open. Bhullar is 7-under and just outside the top-30 with many players yet to finish. SSP Chawrasia was 1-under through 16 holes, having shot a 2-over in Round 1. The cut is likely to fall at 4-under.
