Indian hockey team forward Mandeep Singh has tested positive for Covid-19, becoming the sixth national player to contract the virus, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said today. The 25-year-old from Jalandhar is being treated along with the other players in Bengaluru, where the national camp will start on August 20.

Indian captain Manpreet Singh, Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, Varun Kumar and Krishan Pathak had tested positive earlier. According to the SAI doctors, the players are showing only “mild symptoms”. — PTI
