India’s Shiv Kapur fired a sizzling 7-under 65 on Day 2 to put himself in contention at the halfway stage of the $750,000 Indonesian Masters here today. Kapur, who finished runner-up in two of his last three starts, is tied-fifth at 9-under 135 and four shots behind the leader, Josh Younger (65). “Hopefully, I can continue to roll the ball like I did today. I holed a couple of really long ones on the front nine,” Kapur said.

There were a lot of good scores from the Indian golfers as Ajeetesh Sandhu (67) moved to tied-eighth at 8-under and Rashid Khan (65) moved to tied-14th at 6-under. Viraj Madappa (69) was also tied-14th. Jyoti Randhawa (69) was tied-30th at 4-under and SSP Chawrasia (69) was tied-39th at 3-under. Aman Raj (73) was tied-50th and Arjun Atwal (71) tied-60th.

Veer Ahlawat (72-72), Khalin Joshi (74-72), Aadil Bedi (77-70) and S Chikkarangappa (74-75) missed the cut. — PTI
