South Africa's left-arm spinner, Keshav Maharaj, has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the three-match ODI series against Pakistan due to a left abductor strain. The injury occurred while he was warming up for the first ODI.
In his place, slow left-arm orthodox bowler Bjorn Fortuin has been named as a replacement for the remaining two ODIs.

According to a statement from Cricket South Africa (CSA), Maharaj would return to Durban for rehabilitation and would be assessed ahead of the upcoming Test series, which begins on December 26 in Centurion. Maharaj is part of South Africa's Test squad for the two-match series that follows the ODI series.
South Africa, currently leading the World Test Championship standings, would secure a place in the final at Lord's next year with a win against Pakistan.
After losing the three-match T20I series 2-0, Pakistan bounced back to win the first ODI by three wickets. The second ODI would take place in Cape Town on Thursday.
