The India Champions, led by Yuvraj Singh, withdrew from the semifinal of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 after deciding to not play against Shahid Afridi-led Pakistan Champions. The decision comes amid heightened political tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

A video has surfaced online showing an apparently stunned Shahid Afridi watching helplessly from the stadium balcony as Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan, exited the venue.

Afridi, prior to the match, had made a provocative statement, saying “Pata nahi ab kis muh se khelega hamare sath hee (Don’t know with what face India will play, but they will have to play against us).”

However, the comment backfired. Rather than bowing to pressure, the Indian team chose to walk out of the tournament.
