The former India skipper finished the year with 1,377 runs, scoring six centuries and eight half-centuries. Kohli also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s longstanding record of most ODI centuries. He was named the Player of the Tournament at the World Cup for scoring a record 765 runs in 11 matches.

This is the seventh individual ICC award won by Kohli. He also won the Test award once and was named the Cricketer of the Year twice.

Australia captain Pat Cummins and England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt were named Cricketers of the Year. Cummins won the men’s award after a year in which he led Australia to the World Test Championship and World Cup titles.
