LEICESTER: Liverpool’s new striker Darwin Nunez scored a late goal on his debut as they drew first blood in this season’s rivalry with Manchester City after a 3-1 win in today’s Community Shield. The Uruguayan, bought from Benfica for an initial fee of ^75 million, made himself an instant fan favourite after capping a lively appearance off the bench with a stoppage time goal to secure the first trophy of the season. Jeev fires 8-under 64, lies second at JCB Champs

Determined to erase the memories of missing the cut at last week’s Senior Open, India legend Jeev Milkha Singh cracked a sensational bogey-free 8-under 64 to lie second after the first round of the JCB Championship here. Jeev was two shots behind leader James Kingston.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
