Chandigarh, February 19

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, won a thriller against Dashmesh Marshal and Sports Academy (DMSA), Anandpur Sahib, in the ongoing 58th Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial All India Football Tournament in Mahilpur today.

The Mahilpur outfit logged a 4-3 win to qualify for the college category finals. The side was ahead in the 13th minute when Wahid Sammi netted the first goal of the match. However, just before the lemon break, Taren Salthia cancelled the goal for DMSA.

In the second half, the hosts scored two quick goals o gain a 3-1 lead. Sehar converted a free-kick in the 50th minute, while Prabhjot Singh netted one in the 73rd minute.

Still having 15 minutes to make a comeback, DMSA lads got a major shot in the arm as Harman netted the second goal in the 79th minute to make it 2-3 for the side.

But Prabhjot Singh scored his second to put Mahilpur ahead by 4-2 in the 91st minute. Just before the final whistle, DMSA managed to pull off a consolation goal through a penalty– converted by

Abhishek Rattu.

Meanwhile in a school category semifinal, FA Baddon logged a 1-0 win over FA Mahilpur. The only goal of the match was scored by Akashdeep Singh in the 72nd minute.
