Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was discharged from hospital on Wednesday after developing heart-attack-like symptoms on November 23, just hours before her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal. However, despite the improvement in his health, the families have not announced a new wedding date.

According to reports by India TV, Shrinivas was released from Sarvhit Hospital in Sangli. He had been admitted on what was to have been the wedding day for Smriti and Palash.

The wedding was subsequently postponed indefinitely, triggering widespread speculation.

Doctors reportedly conducted an angiography, found no blockages, and declared his condition stable and out of danger.

A day after Shrinivas’s hospitalisation, Palash was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli before being shifted to a facility in Mumbai. There is still no clarity on his current medical condition or whether he has been discharged.
