In a dazzling display of speed, style and sheer guts, Christian Roberto Lopez Rodriguez from Spain has shattered his own Guinness World Record for the 100m backwards sprint in high heels, clocking an impressive 16.55 seconds.

This fearless feat beats his previous record of 20.05 seconds, set on the Spanish TV show La Noche De Los Records.

Guinness World Records has strict guidelines for this quirky category: heels must be at least 7cm (2.76in) high with a tip no wider than 1.5cm (0.59in), and platform shoes are a big no-no.

Christian nailed it, sporting striking blue high heels with matching socks, red shorts and a vibrant pink-and-blue top.

Facing away from the start line, Christian dashed off with remarkable speed as soon as the timer began. A chest-mounted camera captured the playful POV of his feet racing backwards – heels clattering against the track in a blur of motion. Crossing the finish line brought instant relief as he kicked off his heels, freeing his feet from their stylish torment.

A user wrote, “How...why....so many questions....” Another commented, “This is actually quite a funny record,” while a third reacted, “Giving tough competition to Michael Jackson.”
